ASME - Day In The Life Engineer Series
Laura Ahmentaj
Laura Ahmentaj graduated from NYU Tandon School of Engineering in 2018. She majored in mechanical engineering and minored in aerospace engineering.
After graduation, she went on to work for Northrop Grumman, one of the nation's top aerospace and defense technology companies, in the Pathways Professional Development Program. Her work has revolved around the production and testing of spacecraft antennas and electronics. She and three other NYU alumni (including two from NYU Tandon) have developed a start-up called Curtain Call.
In this virtual interview with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Ahmentaj explains some of her work done at Northrop Grumman, including the testing of "self-flying" aircraft and all of the difficulties and intricacies that are involved with it.
