Google’s Bard writes convincingly about known conspiracy theories
Laura Edelson, computer scientist, misinformation researcher and co-director of the Cybersecurity for Democracy, commented on AI chatbots’ abilities to lower the barrier to generate misinformation-filled posts. “That makes it a lot cheaper and easier for more people to do this. Misinformation is often the most effective when it’s community-specific, and one of the things that these large language models are great at is delivering a message in the voice of a certain person, or a community.”
