Hiring AI to hire people

Mona Sloane, research assistant professor and senior research scientist at NYU Tandon's Center for Responsible AI, joined podcast host Reid Blackman and NYU Assistant Professor of Journalism Hilke Schellmann to discuss the impact of AI in the hiring process. "There are many tools that are used at the same time for recruiting," said Sloane. "For assessments, screenings, and evaluation purposes later on, it is difficult for us to understand where automated decision making through an AI tool happened sort of independently without a human intervention in this sort of ecosystem of decisions and tools, and where it didn't."
