Why heat pumps are the future, and how your home could use one


Director of the NYU Tandon Sustainable Engineering Initiative and Donald F. Othmer Associate Professor Miguel Modestino explained how heat pumps have been touted as the answer to curbing greenhouse gas emissions produced by homes. “They move heat, they don’t create it. Using the same amount of electricity, a heat pump can provide three to four times more warmth than a plug-in space heater.”
